General Medicine and Diabetology

The General Medicine department at VIMS Hospitals takes care of the diagnosis, management, and nonsurgical treatment of adult diseases. Preventive healthcare is a core focus area of the department. The department encompasses general practitioners, who are experts in identifying risk factors for major diseases and detecting significant diseases at their inception. Sensitive surveillance leads to faster implementation of remedial measures.

The scope of this specialty department includes infectious diseases, asthma, respiratory diseases, hypertension, diabetes, tuberculosis, hematology, and geriatric care. We have a dedicated hypertension clinic and exclusive centers for the detection and treatment of infections, hematology, and diabetes.
Through this, we have emerged as the primary center for diabetes treatment in the region with early prevention.
